Get on Track is a wellbeing programme for young people aged 16-25 delivered in a community setting, where they need it most. Working with a diverse range of young people, the programme is designed to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem, as well as focusing on becoming physically and mentally healthier.
The programme is delivered by world class Athlete Mentors and uses personal, social and emotional development techniques, and teaches key life skills such as teamwork and communication. The curriculum includes young people identifying, devising and delivering a social action project in their local area.
The programme is delivered in three stages which are designed to challenge and develop young people in a supporting and fun environment.
Stage 1: On Your Marks.
This is three days of activity full of high energy sessions designed to build a supportive team to go through the programme together. There is a focus on developing communications, team work and resilience.
Stage 2: Get Set.
This part of the programme is about taking young people out of their comfort zone, helping to make them more resilient to dealing with change, coping with stress and how to ‘control the controllables’. It is also about boosting their self believe and forming good habits around lifestyle choices. This stage also sees the identification, planning and delivery of their social action project and the development of individual personal development plans as we plan for a successful transition from the programme.
Stage 3: Go.
This is the final element of the programme and it is a celebration of the young people’s achievements. Young people are at the heart of the event with an opportunity to present on what they have learnt and what they are aspiring to do next.
The programme can be delivered in person, on line or as a blended offer and runs for 6 to 12 months.
