GET ON TRACK PROGRAMME
Are you 16-25 and interested in our Get on Track mentoring programme?
The programme is designed to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem, support you with key skills that will help you move forward in life, as well as focusing on becoming physically and mentally healthier.
When Dame Kelly Holmes set-up the Trust, she understood what a difference world-class athletes could bring to the lives of young people - they are incredible role models. We work with a group of amazing athlete mentors who have reached the pinnacle of their sports, and now they’re working with young people to pass on their experience, knowledge and advice to you.
The Get on Track programme is delivered by our athlete mentors and uses a mix of fun, engaging challenges and activities. The programme will also teach you key life skills such as teamwork and communication. You’ll work on your own personal development plan, as well as working as a group to create, plan and deliver a social action project in your local community.
The programme is delivered in three stages which are designed to challenge and develop young people in a supporting and fun environment.
Stage 1: On Your Marks.
This is three days of activity full of high energy sessions designed to build a supportive team to go through the programme together. There is a focus on developing communications, team work and resilience.
Stage 2: Get Set.
This part of the programme is about taking you out of your comfort zone, helping to make you more resilient to dealing with change, coping with stress and how to ‘control the controllables’. It is also about boosting your self believe and forming good habits around lifestyle choices. This stage also sees the identification, planning and delivery of your social action project and the development of individual personal development plans as we plan for a successful transition from the programme.
Stage 3: Go.
This is the final element of the programme and it is a celebration of your achievements. You will be at the heart of the event with an opportunity to present on what you have learnt and what you are aspiring to do next.
