Powering Potential,
Shaping Futures.
It’s our mission to make a positive difference to the lives of young people facing challenge or disadvantage in their everyday lives. Dame Kelly Holmes Trust partnerships offer your organisation the opportunity to change young lives in your local community.
Giving back and getting involved with your community is one of the New Economics Foundation’s Five Ways to Wellbeing, a toolkit also used by our athlete mentors when working with young people. Engage with schools or community groups in your area and create a stronger connection for your team with the place where you work, as well as providing young people with life changing access to people and expertise they might never have the opportunity to experience.
Be their champion
Funding a programme for young people in your local area will allow us to deliver personal, social and emotional development programmes designed to raise confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
Be on their Team
Research shows that the more interactions young people have with professionals, the more their life chances increase. Sometimes, all they need as a catalyst for change, is a different positive adult figure, outside of their home or school setting.
Our Volunteering Opportunities engage your employees at a local level and allow experience the positive impact of the charity partnership first-hand. These unforgettable experiences benefit both sides, with young people getting valuable insight from your team members; for the volunteers, it can be immensely rewarding to have helped a young person or to spark the lightbulb ‘I could do that’ moment. Opportunities include:
• Supporting the social action project planning process
• Participating as a “Dragon” when young people pitch their ideas to the Dragon’s Den
• Reviewing CVs and holding practice interviews.
• Creating bitesize webinars on important topics
• Helping celebrate the young people’s success on their programme
