AQA Unlocking potential nominations are open

We are pleased to announce that nominations for this year’s AQA Unlocking Potential programme are open. From now until October 31st, teachers are able to nominate four students from their school who are not currently fulfilling their potential and who they know will benefit from mentoring from a world class athlete.

AQA Unlocking Potential is a transformational mentoring programme for students aged from 11-19 years of age, delivered in partnership between education charity AQA and Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. The programme puts athletes shoulder to shoulder with young people, aiming to raise student's aspirations and expectations for future life goals, equipping them with a winning mindset that’s ready to achieve. Whether that’s moving from school to Further Education, Further Education to Higher Education, or into training and employment, our athlete mentors will help students move forward with confidence.

From this year AQA has pledged to expand the programme and increase the number of young people we can support. We are now running the programme for 120 students across 30 schools, an increase of 50% from previous years.

The way the students change over the year they work with the athlete mentors on this programme is remarkable.
