I am a strategic IT channel professional with 20+ years experience in industry leading corporations, covering direct and indirect channels, sales ownership, business development, project management and consultancy.

Most recently, I left Apple after 20 years where I lead several European business transformation projects, as well as managing numerous sales teams to aggressive targets. Working with the Trust will allow for my skills and passion to combine and help the Trust to advance the fantastic projects they deliver in the community.

Why you love working with the Trust
As a young black male, being inspired to achieve by marvelling at the exploits of Ashe, Richards, Ali, Thompson and Woods I am passionate in the belief that sport has to power to unite and inspire people who are diverse by nature.

What do you do right now
I have taught A-Level Psychology and Sociology for 20 Years and I am currently Assistant Director of Sixth form at St. Mary’s.

Relevant experience for the Committee Member role
My reason for coming into teaching was to make a difference in young people’s lives. I work tirelessly to ensure that all the young people are supported to achieve their full potential. Working in education for so long I have seen how young people are effected by experiences outside of school and they are not always able to get the support that works for them to develop their self belief and strive to be the best they can be. Social media and the recent pandemic are having an increasing impact on our young people’s mental health and general wellbeing and I have been a strong advocate in promoting more activities for the post 16 students in our school to nurture their wellbeing.

Why you love working with the Trust
After being part of the AQA Unlocking Potential project with my previous school and seeing the outstanding impact it had on my students, I was keen to be involved with the Trust. I have a wealth of experience and contacts within education that I hope can further develop the amazing work that the Trust does. I started with the Trust in May 2022 and I have enjoyed working with the team, sharing ideas and also doing some research on how we can improve the information that goes out to schools so we can reach a larger number of students.

What’s your sport
I do love all kinds of sport and I am heavily involved with football and taekwondo due to my daughters. I have no claim to fame with sport but I am proud of the fact that at 47 I finally learnt to hula hoop and that is one of my recommended stress relievers for the sixth formers, as you can’t help but laugh when you hula hoop.

What do you do right now
I am pastoral leader and Teacher of PE at The Winston Churchill School.

Relevant experience for the Committee Member role
As an experienced teacher and leader for over twenty-three years, I have a wealth of experience from curriculum leadership to extensive pastoral expertise. Through my work delivering national intervention programmes with the Youth Sport Trust, and experience as an athlete and UK Athletics Coach, I hope to share my passion and commitment to making a difference to the lives of young people whatever it takes. My vision is to empower, engage, inspire and rejuvenate the lives of others. I am passionate about inclusivity and believe it is important in today’s challenging society, to instil young people with positive and open-minded attitudes. Through first-hand experience I know that the pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on disadvantaged groups in schools; those on a low income, students with an existing mental health condition; children from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. I am acutely aware of the need for more targeted personal, social and emotional development programmes and prevention interventions in schools. Outside of Education, I am a Health and Wellness Consultant and Mindset Coach.

Why you love working with the Trust
I am inspired by the Trust’s mission and hope to play a part in the next exciting phase of its development and hope to be able to impact as many young people as possible. I would like to help advance the education, development, and improvement of young people through the provision of mentoring, personal, social and emotional development programmes and happily offer my commitment and flexibility to engage and support the charity and its growth. Working with the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust will allow for my skills and passion to combine and I hope I can contribute towards helping the trust advance some of the truly inspiring and engaging projects they currently deliver across the UK.

What’s your sport
I am a former Track and Field athlete who competed at regional, national & international level, specialising in the 400m, 800m & cross-country events. Having retired from competitive athletics I still loves to run and keep fit. I am a keen England Rugby supporter and Harlequins RFU fan.
